Whether or not any more sets are released however, the Simpsons House is a real treat for me. The only thing I can really think to criticise is the way the medium nougat parts of the chimney make a random pattern on the wall of Homer and Marge's room wall. Also, it would have been nice if the garage door worked like a real one so the door was inside the garage when opened but doing that in LEGO, at this scale, obviously isn't practical.

I followed right a long with my build at home! I finished building my house last night and came to many of the same conclusions. The level of detail is astonishing and the layout of the house fits for the size of the set. If TLG was to make one with all the rooms the price tag would be astronomical.

Quite frankly I would rank them among the best minifigs ever made because not only do they have excellent heads, but also brand new arms and, in Bart's case, legs. Yes, they are NOT printed, they are actually moulded with two colours of plastic and look absolutely superb. Homer is in his work clothes, complete with Sector 7G ID card.
Now we can wish for Marge's station wagon, King Toots music store, Kwik-E-Mart the list goes on...... Thanks very much for this review - I appreciate that you've both spent so long on it, as it's a very big and detailed set which really needs a lot of time to be fully reviewed! You've covered just about everything, and the photos are excellent as usual.I agree with basically everything - house is superb, and although it's way out of my price range, I can still admire this great model. Jason, I've never seen more than snippets of the Simpsons myself. Just finished building the set over three nights. Great build and excellent addition to the Lego collection.
I'm just not sure I can justify spending £180 on it having only recently forked out for the Parisian Restaurant... Great detailed review, loved it.You can please some of the people all of the time and all of the people some of the time. But you can't please all of the people all of the time. Maybe LEGO will do a free polybag with a fridge when you buy a Simpsons set? Definably like this set, but no room in my collection for a big house like this.
To get the colors just right, Jameson said when buying paint, he brought LEGO pieces to the hardware store to color match. Finally, after six building sessions, the model is complete... The roof is constructed in the same way as the other roof sections, making use of yet more white 2x2 inverted domes. In this image the 'Keep Out' sign is visible on Bart's door, another fine inclusion which shows good attention to detail on the part of the designer.
